Example Dive Costs
The tables below demonstrate the sensitivity of our charging algorithm to the number of divers and the distance traveled. All tables are based on 70 miles towed, a launching fee of £25.00, petrol at £1.35 per litre, and oil at £7.50 per litre.
Accuracy of figures
These figures are only an approximation.
The figures shown are highly dependent on the algorithm used which tries to estimate fuel consumption based on the weight in the boat. At the moment it is only a guess, but is on the pessimistic side - costs should not be much more than shown, and may be less.
In order for us to improve the accuracy, marshals will be asked to record miles driven and fuel used.

Remember that the major portion of the costs is fuel, and the way that the boat is driven makes a big difference. By driving with the boat properly plane-ing, you will use probably half the fuel than when the boat is not plane-ing. Obviously, the faster you go after that, the worse the consumption will be.
Table 1 - One Wave
The basis of this table is one wave and one dive each. Add £2.00 if a second dive is done.
Figures in bold indicate that the dive requires more than the fuel capacity of the boat.
If two dives are done each in two waves, just select the column representing total miles driven.
